Kiwi Chia Overnight Oats

chia overnight oats gut-friendly breakfast healthy overnight oats high fibre overnight oats kiwi chia overnight oats kiwi overnight oats overnight oats for constipation

A creamy, make-ahead breakfast packed with fibre from rolled oats, chia seeds and ground linseed, topped with fresh kiwi fruit. These kiwi chia overnight oats are easy to prepare the night before and make a convenient breakfast when you're looking to add more fibre to your day.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Chilling time: Overnight
Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp ground linseed

  • ½ cup milk (or lactose-free milk)

  • ¼ cup Greek yoghurt (or lactose-free yoghurt)

  • 1 tsp maple syrup, optional

  • 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced

Method

  1. Add the rolled oats, chia seeds and ground linseed to a jar or bowl.

  2. Pour in the milk and add the yoghurt and maple syrup, if using. Stir until well combined.

  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours, until thick and creamy.

  4. In the morning, stir well and add a splash of milk if you'd prefer a thinner consistency.

  5. Top with fresh kiwi fruit and enjoy.

Oats, chia seeds and ground linseed all contribute GEL fibre, which absorbs water and helps support stool consistency. Kiwi fruit is also worth including, with research suggesting it may help improve constipation for some people.

If you're not used to eating much fibre, start with smaller amounts of chia and linseed and build up gradually as tolerated. You can always add a little more milk if your oats become too thick.

Doing everything right, but more fibre only makes you feel worse?

You asked for it, so I'm putting it together.

Fibre for Grumpy Guts is coming.

Maybe you’re having oats for breakfast, seeds on everything and plenty of veg, and you’re still bloated or waiting for a decent poo. Maybe you added more fibre because everyone said it would help, and you felt worse. Or you’ve cut out onion, garlic, bread and beans and you’re still not comfortable.

Often the trouble isn’t fibre itself. It’s the mix of fibre types, how much, and the order you add them in.

Imagine easier poos, less bloating, and enjoying more of the foods you love.

That’s what my new mini course will help you with: which fibre to start with, how much and when, and how to build up from there.

Grab my free Fibre for Grumpy Guts starter guide and I’ll add you to the waitlist too. Waitlist members get first access on Wednesday 11 November and the founding price of $37 for 3 days only, plus two live check-ins with me. After that, it’s $57 for everyone.
