Mistletoe Mocktail

gut health mocktail recipes

Enjoy a Christmas drink that’s festive, refreshing, and kind to your body without the dreaded hangover. This Mistletoe mocktail tastes as festive as it looks!

Ingredients

  • 50ml pomegranate juice (gives that clear, jewel-toned red)

  • 20ml fresh lemon or lime juice

  • 20ml sparkling water or alcohol-free prosecco

  • 1-2 tsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)

  • Ice

Festive Garnish

  • 1 small rosemary sprig (your faux “mistletoe”)

  • 2-3 cranberries or pomegranate arils

  • Optional: extra pomegranate arils for sparkle

Snow Rim

  • Dip rim in lemon juice

  • Roll in caster sugar (looks like frosted snow)

Instructions

  • Rim the martini glass with lemon juice, then dip into your sugar “snow.”
  • Add pomegranate juice, lemon/lime, and honey to a shaker with ice.
  • Shake until cold and lightly frothy.
  • Strain into the martini glass.
  • Top with a splash of sparkling water/alcohol-free prosecco.
  • Add the rosemary sprig so it sits slightly angled, then float 2–3 cranberries next to it.

THE GUT FRIENDLY FIBRE GUIDE

An evidence-based guide for women to eat more fibre without making their gut feel worse

If eating more fibre has ever left you feeling worse, fibre probably wasn’t the problem. More likely, your gut just needed you to go slower.

This guide is based on the approach I use with women who want to eat more fibre without making their gut feel worse. We start with where you are now, then build from there slowly enough that your gut can keep up.

It’s food-first, weight-neutral and evidence-based, created by me and my team of Accredited Practising Dietitians.
